Opening Week Predictions: 10/29/2010

October 29, 2010

Here’s tonight’s predictions:

Indiana at Charlotte — Bobcats were one of the league’s best at home last year. That should continue. IND 88 CHA 102

Sacramento at New Jersey — Battle of two top five NBA picks from this past summer’s draft. Cousins will win the battle, Nets will win the war. 2-0 Hov! SAC 102 NY 109

Atlanta at Philadelphia — Hawks face another young team on the up and coming. Sorry city of brotherly. Hawks will fly. ATL 112 PHI 99

Cleveland at Toronto — The I Hate South Beach Bowl goes to the Raptors. CLE 82 TOR 84

New York at Boston — Boston is back at it after an embarrassing loss to the Cavs. Expect a beatdown in Beantown. NY 80 BOS 98

Oklahoma City at Detroit — After a tough loss to the Nets, don’t expect it to get easier for the Pistons. KD & Russy will run up the score! OKC 115 DET 85

Orlando at Miami — Home opener for the South Beach Mob, but it will be a sour one. Team still needs time to gel. Superman will look unstoppable. ORL 109 MIA 101

Milwaukee at Minnesota — It will be a long season for the T’Wolves. MIL 105 MIN 85

Denver at New Orleans — Melo is still in the powder and gold. Nuggets are still a perennial West powerhouse. Too much fire power for CP3 DEN 111 NO 99

Memphis at Dallas — Mavericks are showing to the best sports team in the town. Will look impressive tonight. MEM 108 DAL 122

Los Angeles (C) at Golden State — Two of my favorite young studs go head up, Monta Ellis vs. Eric Gordon, but Blake Griffin will steal the show. Possibly Steph Curry goes for 46 in the loss? LAC 125 GS 111

Los Angeles (L) at Phoenix — Rematch of the West Finals. Nash and company sneak one pass on the late night. LAL 101 PHX 110

Last night: Wizards looked awful. Jazz let me down. I went 1-1

Hey after watching the Heat dismantle Orlando last night (and Orlando had mauled the Wizards right before)I think the season should be cancelled and the playoffs start right away – I am very glad LeBron went to South Beach – nobody is beating them this year.

Anything can happen-Injuries, blockbuster trades, etc. Lets not put Miami on a pedestal yet.

Plus do you remember how the C’s dismantled them on opening night?

    Its a long season.
