AP Preseason All-Americans Announced

November 1, 2010

This afternoon, the Associated Press announced their 2010-2011 Preseason All-Americans. Leading the way with the most votes was Duke’s standout forward Kyle Singler. Singler looks to lead a revamped Duke team back to the promised land and try to repeat as national champions. Joining Singler, will be University of North Carolina’s star freshman Harrison Barnes. Barnes is the first freshman to make the list since voting began in 1986-1987. Kansas State’s starting point guard Jacob Pullen and BYU guard Jimmer Fredette made the list as well. Purdue center JaJuan Johnson rounded out the list of Preseason All-Americans.

Good luck guys!

Interesting fact. No player from last year’s All-American team returned. Kentucky’s star freshmen John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins, Ohio State’s Evan Turner, Syracuse’s Wesley Johnson are now all in the NBA. Scottie Reynolds graduated from Villanova.

I love this time of the year. Hopefully UNC will bounce back from that horrible output that was last season. Barnes making the All-American list as a freshman is amazing. Let’s just hope he delivers on the hype.

It pains me to say this, but Duke looks scary good again this year.
