From Washington Post:

The Wizards’ Hilton Armstrong has been suspended for one game for his flagrant foul, penalty two on the Heat’s Joel Anthony during Monday’s game in Miami, announced Stu Jackson, NBA executive vice president basketball operations.

From the NBA’s news release:

The incident, in which Armstrong made contact by shoving Anthony during a layup attempt and was ejected following the Flagrant Foul, Penalty Two call, occurred with :32 remaining in the 3rd period of the Wizards 105-94 loss to the Heat Monday at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Armstrong will serve his suspension tonight when the Wizards face the Toronto Raptors at Air Canada Centre.

Armstrong was ejected from Monday’s game when he attempted to stop Anthony from scoring a layup. Anthony flailed awkwardly, hitting Gilbert Arenas on the head before hitting the hardwood.

Yesterday Armstrong was holding out hope that the league would be lenient, although the play was almost identical to the 76ers’ Elton Brand’s shove of an airborne JaVale McGee last week. Brand received a one-game suspension. Armstrong said his “intentions was not to hurt anyone.”

Armstrong tried to help Anthony up, but when he extended his hand, the Heat’s Juwan Howard knocked him over, leading officials to intercede and break up the players.
